Faculty Opening in Clinical Psychology

The Department of Psychology at Mississippi State University seeks to fill tenure-track positions in Clinical Psychology for Fall 2009. Our clinical program is expanding; we will make as many as three hires (two at the rank of assistant professor and one at the rank of associate professor), pending budget approval. Applicants must have completed an APA-accredited doctoral program in Clinical or Counseling Psychology (with a minimum of 18 credits from a psychology department) and an APA-approved internship. Applicants should be willing to pursue licensure in a timely fashion; licensed or license-eligible (with 2000 supervised postdoctoral hours) preferred, but not required. Successful candidates will maintain a program of scholarly research, teach clinically oriented undergraduate and graduate courses, supervise graduate student research, and contribute to the department’s clinical-emphasis M.S. psychology program. Successful candidates may have the opportunity to contribute to the development of a clinical Ph.D. program. The M.S. program is accredited by the Masters in Psychology Accreditation Council and enrolls excellent students through competitive admission, many of whom are subsequently admitted to doctoral programs. Mississippi State University, located in a progressive Sunbelt community, is among the top 100 research institutions in the nation with an array of centers and institutes receptive to collaborative research. MSU has the largest and most talented student body in the state. Interested applicants should send a letter of application, statement of research and teaching interests, curriculum vita, three letters of recommendation, reprints/preprints, and teaching evaluations (if available) to: Dr. Kristine M. Jacquin, Chair, Clinical Search Committee, P.O. Box 6161, Mississippi State University, Mississippi State, MS 39762-6161. Review of applications will begin October 15, 2008, but applications will be accepted until positions are filled. Mississippi State University is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
